Gillian Anderson has proven herself to be a very diverse actress. Although she is best known for The X-Files TV series, some of her earliest work, and most of her recent work, has been in theatre. She also won critical acclaim for her 2000 movie, House of Mirth, and has received awards, nominations, and praise for her role as Lady Dedlock in the BBC's 2006 TV production of Bleak House.
